Mostly Martha - What was she doing?!? 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
In the movie Mostly Martha, she had something in the middle of a long piece of (I assume) cheesecloth and was dipping it back and forth in a pot of boiling water. Does anyone know what she was cooking and what this method is called?

Many thanks!

Heaven forbid! NO! It is a 2002 German movie recommended on another forum as one of the best food movies ever. It is about a female chef who is obsessed with precision and excellence. It really makes experiences in a busy restaurant kitchen come to life and is a good story as well, having some funny moments also.

I highly recommend it for foodies (as well as Eat Drink Man Woman, a 1994 Ang Lee film). Both are available on Netflix to rent.

I am puzzled by this technique I have never seen before.
