Astrid Burkle has been teaching English for the last 30 years. She has been teaching English to Culinary Students at Instituto Gastronómico Corbuse, a collection of Culinary Arts Programs with 8 campuses around Mexico for the last 3.

After having little success with traditional formal English classes in elementary and secondary schools in Mexico she visited San Jose Ca. and in only 6 months was able to communicate fluently. This inspired her to become an English teacher and to use real life examples, readings, stories, videos and activities to teach English to her Culinary Students.

She is a regular contributor to the forums here and will be contributing articles on Mexican Cuisine. Her first article "The many Moles of Mexico" is very informative and we are looking to more authentic information on this great cuisine.
